i’m now almost 100% sure that Ryouta Mitarai is the mastermind behind dangan ronpa mirai-hen. I already had my doubts before this episode but hear me out
1-He got more screentime than any of the other remnants of despair in the last two episodes, and he’s still ALIVE. That’s not a dangan ronpa thing to do, making a character really lovable and letting him live
2-He was late for the first meeting of mirai-hen. Some people said that too, but the rumor disappeared quickly.
3-He met Junko Enoshima in the last episode. You could say yeah he’ll resist her despair, but did you see the face he was making? that doesn’t look like resistance to me
4-He has this adoration for Naegi Makoto and hope. Who was the last person with an inconditional adoration for hope again? What did he becomes again?
5-He’s in the same class as all the other remnants of despair and appears in the opening, even if he’s supposed to be unaffected
6-He follows every step of Kirigiri and since he does, Kizakura follows her too. You know the guy with the crazy good intuition who felt that Gekkogahara was fishy? Yeah.
7-And finally the guy has been the BIGGEST SWEETHEART (since the other sweethearts are all dead) of mirai-hen. He’s praised and loved by the whole fandom. Imagine the joy of Kodaka, when he’ll make him reveal himself and potentially kill someone we all love like kirigiri or asahina. With all those tears, Kodaka will finally achieve his goal and make the whole world fall in despair.
I really don’t want it to be that Izuru appears forgets all memories of being Hajime, etc.
I want there to be a slight nagging at the edge of his mind. I want him to flinch at the sight of Chiaki without knowing why. I want him to look upon Hope’s Peak and feel an incomprehensible mix of emotions, of an origin unknown to him.
